HealthyMama

On Sunday when Mr.A and I returned from China, we had a short but powerful (:D) talk about getting fit and healthy.  He packaged it nicely but I see his main point=get back your body.
Before,  he would say it so bluntly that I got super defensive about even talking about it,  but I really do need to get my body back.

I thought about setting a concrete weight goal, but that has never worked out, so I am making a goal to fit into my old clothes!
I will come up with a weight mini goal and I suggested to A that if I achieve this by my birthday we can take a mini trip to Taiwan, since he had been itching to go somewhere!
Taipei will be nice since it's only an hour flight and cheap :)

So today for breakfast I had a bowl of chicken mushroom soup, for lunch I had a smoked salmon wrap, and dinner is seafood cream spaghetti with a side of Caesar salad. Not super light for a meal but I did walk 4 hours today with almost 8kg Riri in the carrier!

I have to really restrain myself sometimes (ok all the time) because I looooove junk food and I've no shame in admitting and consuming them. But, since I'm breastfeeding,  I'm sure what I eat affects her even if it's small. I will try to give myself healthy substitutes for snacks and all around food choices.
As for exercise,  right now baby is clingy so I will first try to change my eating habits first then try to incorporate some exercises.

So here's to a healthier lifestyle♥

Shopping List for Solids

As Riri is an entirely breastfed baby, I am planning to start solids at 6 months, which is June!
Here is a list of items I am shopping for, I've been researching on Korean sites and amazon.com to narrow the list but it seems to be getting longer and longer!
Typical of me but I will give myself some time to really think about if I really need some of these items.

Babymoov Nutribaby
This 5 in 1 cooker seems to be all the rage amongst the Korean mamas, and I can see why.
Easy to steam and heat and blend for a healthy baby meal.
There is a baby fair this weekend and this is on a huge discount at $999.
Really tempted! I am planning to check out the retail price at Yata and Citisuper tomorrow.
(05/07)Checked out Yata, its retail price is $1999 @_@ holy moly
thankfully I've messaged Babymoov HK and they are sending me a free ticket to the baby fair where I'll be able to purchase at $999. Yay.
(05/09) Went to the Peegaboo baby fair and bought it. Hauled it home on the MTR, and was sweating like a pig!

Stokke Tripp Trapp
No explanation needed!
Would love the pink but as it's discontinued Walnut to match our existing furniture.
The clothing shop which is closing down has a display stock for 20% off, which a little bit of white paint smudged on the back...should I get it for a discount or a new one with 10% discount at mothercare? hmm...
Was able to order the pale pink at the baby fair! YAY! Got the chair, baby set, and cushion for $2870.

Fisher Price Healthy Care Deluxe Booster Seat
Great reviews and an even better price! I want to buy a portable one for use in China, since we visit very often.
Might have to order from Amazon.com, couldn't find it at local toysrus.

these...all from diapers.com
I was sooooo bummed out that the thermos prices went up so significantly AND especially after a coupon code had expired...why oh why!
I'm on the fence about the butterflies insulated food jar because I've seen the SIPP version and it looks so sleek and apparently is better at keeping foods cold/hot.
I've asked my sister to help me purchase the Rosette food jar/sippy cup/straw cup set and have MIL bring it back to HK.
Decided to cancel OXO tot feezer tray and blocks set and order Glasslock baby set from Gmarket instead.

Le Creuset Baby Collection
Yes...this is the mother of all useless baby crap but ohmygod I want...
there was a promotion going on for 30% discount for 2 or more items, but is now replaced with Mother's Day promotions. Damn. Need to check this out tomorrow as well.
The promotion was still on but the price in Citisuper was higher than the online price.
I will check out the flagship store when I go to the baby fair on Friday.
Online pricing is better than the flagship store, so I might purchase online, and even though they charge $150 shipping, there is a $100 facebook coupon.

Other things that I will need are:

2 new cutting boards and knives for exclusive baby use (one for vegs, one for meat)
spatula (Le Creuset, $198)
spoons...lots of spoons (from iHerb.com)
freezer safe glass containers, cookbook, food scale (from Gmarket)

What else?
This is even more daunting than buying baby stuff while I was pregnant!
